MP3 wrappers combine multiple MP3 files (and sometimes other files like cover art) in a single playable MP3 file while still letting the component files be extracted at a later date.

These were used to create albums while still presenting as an MP3 for searches or to bypass restrictions in some filesharing programs that only allowed audio files (and thus not archives like zip/rar).
