Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language is an extensible XML language used in describing multimedia presentation.[1]

Format Information

SMIL files are XML with a root tag of "<smil>" [2][3]

Can be combined with other markup languages such as SVG, but also uses as the basis for eBooks such as Daisy Talking Book format.[4][5]
