ISO 19794-2

ISO 19794-2 is a format for storing a description of the minutae (differentiating features) of fingerprints. It is almost identical to, but incompatible with, ANSI 378.[1].

Identification
ANSI 378 files will begin with 46 4D 52 00
, which is ASCII "FMR" followed by a zero byte[2]. This is the same signature as ANSI 378; [3] gives an algorithm to tell them apart.
