Compel was presentation software developed by Asymetrix Corporation in the early 1990's[1][2][3]. By 1998 the software was discontinued.[4]

Compel files have the extension CPL and use the extension TPL for templates.

  • CPL files from version 2 of the software have the header hex values 034A424F4FF53C55
  • ART files can be exported from Compel and seem to have a very similar structure.
