Fontlab is font design/editing software originally developed for Windows but later was developed for Macintosh as well. Fontlab purchased the code for Fontographer in 2005 and continues to maintains both.[1]

The native file format for Fontlab version 3-5 is .VFB.[2][3]
The native file format for Fontlab version VI is .VFC along with a json version .VFJ.[4]
There is a free VFB to UFO tool available.[5]
