Ragtime is Word Processing / Desktop Publishing software developed by B&E Software[2][3] in Germany. Sold in America by Comgrafix.[4] Software was released in multiple language localizations[5]. Originally written for the Macintosh, later versions were available for Windows.

File Identification

  • Version 2 for Macintosh uses the Type/Code F#+D/F#+A
  • Version 3 for Macintosh uses the Type/Code R#+D/R#+A
  • Version 4/5/6/7 for Macintosh uses the Type/Code C#+D/C#+A

Ragtime versions 4-7 used the Bento Container to store objects.

For Windows version 5/6/7 the extension RTD was used for documents and RTT was used for stationery(templates).
