CAZIP, or CA-ZIP, is a compressed file format by Computer Associates. It uses PKWARE DCL Implode compression.

It is distinct from the CAZIPXP compressed archive format.

Identifiers

The naming convention for compressed files is to replace the last character of the original extension with "_" or "$".

Files begin with 0x0D 0x0A 0x1A "CAZIP".

The next two bytes seem to be an ASCII-encoded version number. There are two known versions: "10" and "33".
