MkCom is a German-language utility that converts a text document to a DOS COM file that, when executed, displays the text in a viewer. It was developed by Jens Schultz. Its focus is on small file size, at the expense of features.

Only v1.3 has been located. According to the change log, earlier versions were in the form of a toolkit that was not as automated.

Identification

For v1.3, the first 1216 bytes of a generated file are probably always the same. ASCII "MkCom.COM" appears at offset 4. Files end with byte 0x1a.
