HackStop
From Just Solve the File Format Problem
HackStop is a "protection" utility for DOS EXE and COM files. It tries to make files more difficult to analyze and modify.
It was developed by Ralph Roth and ROSE SWE. Versions through 1.20 were distributed as shareware. There were some newer versions available only to registered users.

Identification
Protected files made by HackStop v1.11+ end with 9 signature-like bytes: 'H' 'S' 0x01 ?? 'M' 's' 'D' 'o' 's', where "??" is the minor version number.
Files from earlier versions just end with "MsDos".
Files from all versions have identifying text somewhere in them. Here are a few examples of a portion of this text:
