Format details

A MIF file is evidently a PKWARE DCL Implode-compressed PCX file.

Identification

It seems likely that the intermediate PCX file always begins with bytes 0a 05 01 08, and that the same compression settings are always used. If so, a MIF file always begins with bytes (hex) 00 06 14 14 08 80.
