Code Page 852 (CP852, DOS 852, DOS CP852, DOS Latin-2) is an 8-bit character encoding. It is a member of the family of MS-DOS encodings intended for use in central Europe. The lower half is the same as CP437 (and ASCII), and the upper half has accented (and other diacritically-marked) letters and a few other things such as box drawing characters (not as many of them as some of the other encodings since more code positions are devoted to variant letters). This encoding has the characters of ISO 8859-2 (Latin 2), though in different code positions from that encoding.
