VBScript is a Microsoft scripting language used in various Windows client and server environments, including Internet Explorer and IIS. It can be used similarly to JavaScript, but is based on Visual Basic, and is pretty much found only in Microsoft environments, not cross-platform and vendor-neutral like some other languages. Use of it is one of the things that can make a web, intranet, or extranet application Microsoft-specific. (It seems to be getting phased out in newer Microsoft systems, though.)
