Storj is (similarly to Permacoin) a scheme to use the decentralized crypto-currency system from Bitcoin in order to provide cloud-based data storage that is tied to electronic currency. It is being implemented in an open-sourced manner under the MIT License.
Storj is a platform under which a number of services may be implemented; the first one is Metadisk. Currency units generated in this system are called "Storjcoins".
