MPC is a compressed archive utility for DOS, and its associated file format. It was developed by Marco Czudej.
The information in this article is based on MPC version 3.00. If any other versions exist, they might be significantly different.
The documentation calls the software "MPC Version 3.00". The default filename extension is .MP3. The compression utility, MPC.EXE, calls itself "MP3: Power Compressor III". The decompression utility, PDC.EXE, calls itself "MP3: Power DeCompressor III".
MPC is not related to MP3 audio, neither is related to Musepack Audio.
