DL is a raster-oriented animation format created by Davide Tomè and Luca De Gregorio. It is associated with the DL MAKER (also written DL-MAKER) and DL VIEWER software for DOS.
There are three major versions of the format (v1, v2, and v3). The first byte of the file contains the version number.
[edit] Software
- DL MAKER - DOS software, distributed as shareware.
- DL VIEWER - DOS software for playing DL files, and converting to newer format versions. Shareware (v3.x) or freeware.
- v1.2 (Italian)
- v2.3
- v3.1
- Source code
- Atari Computer DL Viewer
- dltogl - A utility to convert DL to GRASP GL (only supports v2 format, and only a subset of that)
- DLTOGL.ZIP - Original (DOS binary + source code)
- Amiga port
- GraphicConverter
- XAnim
- DL-PACK 1.0 - Some DL utilities for DOS
- Deark (resource extraction only)
Ed. note: Some of the DL MAKER and DL VIEWER programs listed above have a hard-coded expiration date. Suggest using a DOS emulator that lets you change its clock.
[edit] Sample files
- dexvert samples — video/dl
- dlview31.zip → DEMO.DL
