[edit] Description
The Digital Replica Plus format (also known as Barnes & Noble Fixed-layout Format) is a file format that was developed by Barnes & Noble for representing magazine content. The format is based on EPUB v2. Like Google's RePub format (which was later adapted from Barnes & Noble's format), its purpose is to deliver 2 different representations of a magazine:
1. A rasterized version of the original (print) magazine layout, using full-screen images for each page.
2. A reflowable representation of the text and images of individual articles.
Both representations are linked through a Replica Map (replicaMap.xml
resource).
