Windows 1256 (CP1256, Windows-1256, Windows CP1256, Windows Arabic) is a character encoding used in Microsoft Windows systems, aimed at Arabic. It is one of the Windows encodings. It is different from ISO 8859-6. It no longer gets much online use, as Unicode is preferred.
