The Olympus '''Dot code''' is a bar code system using dots, in a different manner than [[Dot Code A]]. It was developed in Japan by the Olympus company, receiving [http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5936228.html US Patent 5,936,228]. It was then licensed to Nintendo, which used it in a series of machine-readable cards connected with games such as Pokémon, to be read by the Nintendo e-Reader, an accessory for Nintendo consoles.
