Jigsaw (Walter A. Kuhn)
From Just Solve the File Format Problem
Jigsaw Puzzle (.JIG) is a file format associated with Jigsaw 2, a jigsaw puzzle game for Windows 3.x. The game was developed by Walter A. Kuhn.
A JIG file contains a raster graphics image, and other data. The .SAV variant seems to be the same format, except that it also contains a save state.
If Jigsaw version 1 exists, it hasn't been located.
Identification
A JIG file starts with an embedded BMP file (presumably BMPv3), except that the signature bytes are changed from "BM
" to "JG
".
Note that the signature alone does not distinguish JIG from ART (AOL compressed image).
