Img Software Set is an image processing toolkit developed by Paul Raveling. It has a native image format, which often uses multiple files per image.

  • .p: Colormapped image
  • .a: Image attributes
  • .r, .g, .b: Red, green, blue components

Image files may be compressed, and have an extra .Z extension.

It seems that this software, or an earlier manifestation of it, was also called the Img-whatnot toolkit. We have not been able to confirm or explain this name.
