MSU Lossless Video Codec by Dmitry Vatolin, Dmitry Popov and Sergey Putilin of Moscow State University is free for non-commercial use.

It is available as a Video for Windows codec, allowing it to be used by applications such as VirtualDub and Adobe Premiere.

As of 2007, it had the second best compression ratio of any lossless video codec.

Possible input formats are RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YUYV and YV12.

Despite its name, the codec has several lossy modes.
