Extension(s) .fec

The FEC file format is one of several formats the U.S. Federal Election Commission uses to make available data from the required reports of political candidate committees. It is a delimited-text format making rare use of the ASCII control character INFORMATION SEPARATOR FOUR / FILE SEPARATOR (decimal 28, hex 1C, abbreviation FS), which is part of the C0 controls.
