Overview

The Advanced Disc Filing System (ADFS) is the native filing system in use on RISC OS systems. Earlier versions of the filing system were also used on the Acorn Electron and Master Compact 8-bit systems. Floppy disks with ADFS filing systems are typically referred to by the disk format that they use, each of which corresponds to a particular disk capacity; for example, L format disks are 640K in size. However, D and E format disks are both 800K in size, but use different directory structures.
