I can see that the idea was that miscellaneous formats would be listed either on the [[Text-based data]] page, or this "Binary Data" page. But I don't think that has worked out very well. It's not obvious that that's where miscellaneous formats go. And some formats can't be clearly categorized as either text or binary. And I think that, in general, formats should be categorized based on what they do at a high level, not on what they look like under a microscope.

I propose to delete this page, and create new "Miscellaneous formats" and "Elements of file formats" pages. Or maybe this page stays, but mostly just has links to other pages.

The [[Text-based data]] page probably needs to stay around for now, though maybe its purpose should be redefined. [[User:Jsummers|Jsummers]] ([[User talk:Jsummers|talk]]) 18:43, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
