A BootSkin Vista file consists of:<br />
* The Magic number {{magic|0x42 0x53 0x56}} ("BSV" in [[ASCII]])<br />
* The byte 0x01 (a version number?)<br />
* The title of the theme, encoded as a single byte indicating length followed by the string data<br />
* The name of the creator, encoded the same way<br />
* 4 bytes holding the length of the subsequent PNG file, little-endian<br />
* 4 zero bytes (maybe the length is 8 bits?)<br />
* Possibly another zero byte, probably alignment<br />
* A [[PNG]] holding a thumbnail? of the bootskin, 8-bit color, the horizontal dimension scaled to 400 pixels<br />
