The next byte (offset 3) is probably a format version number. Values <code>0x09</code> (v0.70b5), <code>0x0a</code> (v0.70b7), and <code>0x0b</code> (v1.00a3) have been observed. The [[GetTyp]] file identification software also recognizes <code>0x07</code> and <code>0x08</code>, used by older versions of AKT.<br />

The byte after that (offset 4) seems to always be <code>0x09</code> in v0.70b5+, but GetTyp suggests that its purpose depends on the version of AKT format.<br />
